Agricultural output in Kazakhstan's Turkistan region announced

The gross agricultural output of the Turkistan region of Kazakhstan for the first 10 months of 2018 amounted to 475.6 billion tenge, Trend reports citing the press service of the region’s administration.

Governor of the region Zhanseit Tuymenbayev said this at a government meeting.

"At the same time, the index of physical volume of agricultural products amounted to 103.4 percent. The region ranks second in the country by this indicator," he noted.

The governor also said that the regional program of development of agro-industrial complex of the Turkistan region provides 19 priority areas.

According to the program, it is planned to purchase 1,850 heads of cattle on the livestock development. For the first time, Turkistan exported 6,500 tons of meat to Uzbekistan, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

"On the development of dairy farming until 2025, it is planned to build 44 dairy farms with a capacity of up to 400 heads, and 11 dairy farms with a capacity of over 400 heads," Tuymenbayev said.

The head of the region also noted that a number of large-scale projects are being implemented in the Turkistan region together with the Islamic Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
