By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Since early 2018, almost 790 million tenge of subsidies have been paid to poultry farms in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, and this month subsidies will amount to more than 500 million tenge, Trend reports referring to the website of the administration of the region.

"To reduce the cost of egg production, poultry farms have been paid 559 million tenge of subsidies since the beginning of the year. Poultry meat producing farms have received 230 million tenge," said the head of the Agriculture Department of Karaganda region Sagynzhan Apakashov.

Alexander Didenko, director of Kurma Agrofirm LLP, in turn, said that thanks to the state support, farmers of the region upgrade their production.

“We are now completing the installation of new equipment in two poultry houses. This year we launched a biogas station for processing chicken manure and we already sell the generated electricity to the external markets at the green tariff,” he noted.

Presently, there are six poultry farms in the region: four of egg production and two of meat production. Since the beginning of the year, the region has produced almost 600 million eggs. This covers the domestic needs so eggs are exported abroad. This year, 170 million eggs were delivered to Afghanistan and Uzbekistan from Karaganda region.
