Under the Business Support Map, seven projects worth 1.4 billion tenge are being implemented in the East Kazakhstan region this year, said governor of the region, Daniyal Akhmetov, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.
"The Bakyrchik mining and processing complex with the investment of 133.8 billion tenge was put into operation. Also, two major investment projects for construction of meat processing plants in the cities of Semey and Ayagoz are being implemented together with foreign partners," the head of the region said.
He also noted that the East Kazakhstan region prioritizes export oriented production.
According to Akhmetov, industrial production in the region increased by 109.6 percent, gross agricultural output rose by 102.8 percent, construction increased by 108.5 percent, and more than 265,000 square meters of housing were commissioned.
The governor also said that 8.2 billion tenge will be invested in the development of education in the region for the next 3 years.
