By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Some $570 billion account for the import of neighbouring countries, Trend reports citing Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani as saying.

Only three percent account for the share of Iranian products in the neighboring countries' markets, IRNA reported.

He added that neighbouring countries are the priority for Iran.

In this regard, economists should focus on this issue, the minister said.

Rahmani added that if Iran’s share in the import of neighbouring countries increases up to 10 percent, Iran will export non-oil products to neighbouring countries.

The government and the parliament focus on the expansion of export to the neighbouring countries and the parliament is ready to approve any law in this sphere, he added.

The Iranian minister said that two main principles, namely, technology and export, are required for the development of any industry.

Therefore, there must be special programs for export, he said.
