Official dealers sold 52,467 cars in Kazakhstan in January-November 2018. This is 25.8 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.
Of these, 27,178 cars (51.8 percent) were imported, and 25,289 cars (48.2 percent) were of local manufacture, Kazakhstan Association of Automotive Industry KazAvtoProm said.
"The target for 2019 is 75,000 cars sold with more than half of them to be manufactured by Kazakh automakers," Chairman of the Board of KazAvtoProm Oleg Alferov noted.
According to the results of the 11 months of 2018, Lada (12,061 cars sold), Toyota (11,215) and Hyundai (7,626) lead the ranking of the most popular car brands in Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, Toyota Camry (4,208 cars sold), Lada Granta (3,147) and Lada 4×4 (3,036) lead the ranking of car models.
Also, residents of Almaty (13,951 cars bought), Astana (9,471), and Atyrau (3,893) lead in terms of the purchase of passenger cars for the 11 months of the year.
