Production of vehicles in Iran decreases by 57%

Production of various vehicles in Iran decreased by 57.4 percent in November this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), according to the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Trend reports referring to Mehr News Agency.

Production decreased from 135,402 vehicles in the same period last year to 57,627 vehicles in November this year, according to the report.

Since the beginning of the Iranian year, a 58.2 percent decline was observed in the production of cars. In the same month last year, 126,135 cars were produced, while this figure decreased to 52,723 cars in November this year.

The production of vans decreased by 73.2 percent, from 67 vans in November last year to 18 vans in the same period this year.

A 46 percent decline was also observed in the pickup production - from 7,569 pickups in November last year to 4,082 pickups in the same period this year.

An almost 100 percent decrease in production of various buses was also observed - from 163 buses in November last year to 1 bus in the same period this year.

There was a 52.6 percent decline in the production of various trucks and trailers. If 1,345 trucks were produced in November last year, this year production dropped to 637 trucks.

In November this year, the production of minibuses increased by 33.3 percent – from 123 minibuses in the same month last year to 164 minibuses.

During the first eight months of this Iranian year, production of various vehicles decreased by 24.9 percent – from 960,003 cars to 721,343 cars.
