Iran’s Persian Gulf Holding Company is implementing 9 major projects worth a total of $8.5 billion, said Managing Director of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (PGPIC) Jafar Rabiei, Trend reports via ILNA.

He said the company ranks second in Iran in terms of its sales, and first in terms of exports of non-oil products.

He added that the entire production capacity of the company is 24 million tons per year. This year, despite the problems with sanctions, production at the holding is expected to be at about 20 million tons, he said.

"Some 37 percent of Iran’s petrochemical output accounts for the companies subordinate to the Persian Gulf Holding Company," he noted. "Last year, the holding exported about 8.5 million tons of products. This shows that 41 percent of exports of petrochemical companies and holdings accounts for Persian Gulf Holding Company."
