Kazakhstan ranked 57th in the 2018 Sustainable Economic Development Assessment (SEDA) Index, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

The ranking included 152 countries.

Kazakhstan is followed by Argentina (58th), Russia (59th) and Georgia (60th), while Turkey ranked 63rd.

As for the neighbors of the country, they ranked as follows: China – 72nd, Kyrgyzstan – 95th, Uzbekistan – 101st. Turkmenistan was not included in the ranking.

Norway leads the ranking, followed by Switzerland and Iceland. The Top-10 also includes Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Singapore, Finland, Austria and the Netherlands.

The SEDA methodology analyses the well-being of countries by ten parameters, including health, education and infrastructure development. This methodology was proposed in 2012 as a possible alternative to the usual methods of analyzing the economic development of different countries based on GDP dynamics.
