Iranian customs official has announced that 95 percent of imported goods held up at the customs, will be released.

"More than 95 percent of imported goods would be released in three days. The customs would release the imported goods after registration and allocation of foreign currency, so all these stages should be completed,” Ali Maghouli said, Trend reported via ILNA.

“In previous months there were limits to release the goods from the customs but due to recent approvals, there would not be commodity accumulation at the customs. Before September, the foreign currency rate was normal and the release process was normal as well. We always have commodity circulation in our ports and seek to ease the release process."

"The commodity imports generally have stages that include order registration, allocating foreign currency, declaration of goods while the customs is the third stage of imports," he said.

Maghouli said that the goods that will be released, arrived at the ports earlier and have gone through registration already, while others haven't.

He went on to add that in the new year (starts March 21, 2019), the process of releasing imported goods from customs will be simplified, due to decrease of the foreign currency rate.
