Governor general: Hamedan's exports to reach $1B

In the current Iranian year (started March 21), Iran's Hamedan province intends to increase exports to $1 billion, Governor General of Hamedan province Seyed Saeed Shahrokhi said at the awarding ceremony of the exemplary exporters, Trend reports via Iranian media.

For comparison, last year, the exports of the province amounted to $861 million, according to him.

The governor general noted the importance of supporting the private sector and the production.

Opportunities have been created for the private sector of the province, Shahrokhi said, adding that the Governor General's Office will do its best to support and strengthen the production.

Hamedan accounts for 4.5 percent of Iran's total agricultural output and in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 21) the province exported 184,000 tons of agricultural goods, Director of Agricultural Jihad office of Hamedan province Mansour Rezvani Jalali said.

He further added that the total value of Hamedan's agricultural exports was $160 million, last year the figure was $300 million for the entire year.
