Belgian company Picanol, which produces high-tech weaving machines, will expand its presence in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek media.

The announcement was made at the meeting of the Uzbek Ambassador to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov with the Picanol Managing Director Thomas De Cock and the Sales Manager Valentin Tsiklauri.

During the meeting, Picanol representatives noted that today the company has partners in almost every region of Uzbekistan, where they produce textile products by Picanol equipment.

In 2018, the company supplied 350 weaving machines to Uzbekistan, which is 10 times more than last year.

It should be noted that the talks were held in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On the Program of Measures for the Further Development of the Textile and Clothing and Knitting Industries for 2017-2019". According to the document, by 2020 the country should switch to the full processing of harvested cotton fiber and increase the industrial production by more than 2.7 times for supply to the domestic and foreign markets.
