More mining licenses issued in 12 provinces of Iran

The number of mining licenses issued in 12 Iranian provinces increased by 7-500 percent this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018) compared to the last year, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Trend reports via IRNA.

Although the statistics show an increase in the mining licenses issued in 12 Iranian provinces, a 21 percent decline in the mining licenses is observed in the whole country.

Compared with the last year, the number of mining licenses in Mazandaran, Ilam and Qazvin provinces increased by 500 percent, 400 percent and 125 percent, respectively.

In addition, issuance of mining licenses in Zanjan, Markazi and Fars provinces decreased by 63.2 percent, 59.3 percent and 53.3 percent, respectively.

In 2013-2017, Iran annually extracted an average of 400 million tons of mining materials from the country’s operating mines.
