Kazakhstan increases subsistence minimum in 2018

The subsistence minimum in Kazakhstan in December 2018 amounted to 26,440 tenge, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

According to the Statistics Committee of the Kazakh National Economy Ministry, the average per capita subsistence minimum, which is calculated on the basis of the minimum standards of consumption of basic foodstuffs, increased by 3.3 percent year-to-year in December 2018.

In its structure, the share of expenditure on meat and fish accounted for 20.5 percent; dairy, oil and fat products and eggs – 16.3 percent; fruit and vegetables – 8.3 percent; bread and cereals – 7.6 percent; sugar, tea and spices – 2.3 percent.

Food products, accounting for 55 percent of the subsistence minimum in Kazakhstan, amounted to 14,542 tenge, while non-food products and paid services totaled 11,898 tenge or 45 percent of the total subsistence minimum.
