Iran discloses amount of funds allocated for power plants

Iran's Bank of Industry and Mine has allocated funds for the projects related to power plants capable of generating up to 6,500 megawatts up till now, Huseyn Asgari, member of board of directors of the bank, said.

After the sanctions were imposed, specialists and heads of the power stations faced the problems with the construction of power plants and their financing, Asgari added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Thus, 1.1 billion euros was allocated from the National Development Fund through Iran's Bank of Industry and Mine for the power stations with a capacity of more than 3,000 megawatts, he said.

Among these projects are Azarakhsh, Mahtab Kahnooj, Mapna, Samangan power plants and nine small power plants, he added.

After a new era of sanctions, Iran's Bank of Industry and Mine will allocate funds for big power stations to help the country's industry, Asgari said.

Among them are Mazandaran West Power Station (Caspian), Qeshm power station, Kashan power station, Urmiya power station, Zanjan power station, Chabahar power station, Lamerd power station and Torbat-e Heydarieh power station, he said.

Moreover, 1.7 billion euros are required for the implementation of these projects, Asgari said.
