Kazakhstan announces funds received for compulsory social health insurance

The total amount of contributions by employers and individual entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan to the Social Health Insurance Fund for compulsory social health insurance amounted to 133 billion tenge for July 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

Of these, 124.3 billion tenge (93.5 percent) accounted for employers' contributions, and 8.7 billion tenge (6.5 percent) for the contributions of individual entrepreneurs and persons working under civil law contracts, the Fund informed.

In terms of regions, the largest funds still come from the cities of Almaty and Astana as well as from the Karaganda region.

It should be noted that in December 2018, some 10.4 billion tenge was transferred for compulsory social health insurance in Kazakhstan.

All funds received for compulsory social health insurance are stored in the National Bank of Kazakhstan, with which the trust management agreement was concluded. The funds are used to pay for the services provided under the compulsory social health insurance.
