Dutch company plans to create potato processing plant in Uzbekistan

Representatives of the Uzbek Embassy in the Benelux countries have held talks with officials of the Dutch company Kiremko, one of the world leaders in potato processing, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

During the meeting, Kiremko was informed about the work ongoing in Uzbekistan to attract modern technologies to the agro-industrial sector, modernize production processes and expand export-oriented production.

The management of the Dutch company expressed readiness to establish contacts with the Association of Potato Producers of Uzbekistan and to consider the possibility of organizing training sessions on the production and storage of seed potatoes for the Association representatives.

The parties also discussed the prospects of establishing a joint production for potato processing in Uzbekistan.

"We plan to work more actively with potato producers in Uzbekistan in order to implement a project to create a potato processing plant in the country and establish a line for the production of French fries and chips," said the Regional Sales Manager of Kiremko Twan van den Berg.
