In 2018, 65.9 million passengers were transported via the Marmaray tunnel in Turkey’s Istanbul city, which is 4.5 percent more than in 2017, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Jan. 11.
“Since 2013, 310 million passengers have been transported through the Marmaray tunnel,” the ministry said. "During the day, 336 trips are made through the Marmaray tunnel."
The Marmaray railway tunnel, which connects the eastern and European parts of Turkey, was commissioned in autumn 2013.
