The import of fruits from Uzbekistan into Ukraine has increased last year, Trend reports, referring to the analytical data of the EastFruit platform.

Previously, Uzbekistan was not even in the top 20 of the largest exporters, yet the raisins shipments increased by 1,5 times the amount by 2018, with a slight increase in shipments of prunes and dried apricots.

In addition, imports of fresh apricot increased almost by 14 times – till 168 tons, with a more than 8 times increase in shipments of grapes. Still, representatives of the retail business mark failures in this market – after a long transportation, the quality of the products leaves much to be desired.

Import of Uzbek melons to Ukraine increased by 3.3 times last year, accompanied with a 2.7 times increase in shipments of persimmon.

Uzbekistan has, in turn, renewed its sugar import at the end of last year, after a long halt. Uzbekistan retains its position as the leading purchaser of many Ukrainian products and medicines.
