Four medicinal plants have been planted on a 220-hectare area in Damghan County of Iran’s Semnan Province, said Ali Akbar Abbasi Rad, director of the Damghan County Water and Natural Resources Organization.

Four medicinal plants, namely, wormwood, dorema, asafetida and mountain almond were planted in the county, Abbasi Rad added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

“Taking into account the recent drought and shortage of water, there is a necessity to plant herbs. Corresponding steps must be taken to protect water and land resources,” he added.

“Thus, 48 kilograms of seeds have been used to plant herbs in the county. Planting herbs may become a priority in rural employment programs,” Abbasi Rad said.
