By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

In 2019, the surplus of Kazakhstan's gasoline will be 500,000-600,000 tons, Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said in a parliament meeting, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.

"If we reduce the load of refineries, we will get less diesel or jet fuel, which should not be allowed. We are working on an agreement that will give us the right to export Kazakh gasoline beyond the EAEU. After the ratification and signing of the protocol, Kazakhstan will open export of the fuel to third countries, " Bozumbayev said.

The minister noted that with the current volume of oil refining, the country can export up to 600,000 tons of gasoline.

"These are the fruits of the modernization of refineries," he said, adding that Central Asia and Afghanistan are among the priority markets for gasoline export.

"The opening of exports will have a positive effect on budget revenues due to the export customs duty. Revenues of oil-producing companies in Kazakhstan will increase, and exports will allow to recoup the investments put in the modernization of plants," Bozumbayev said.

The minister also said that Kazakhstan has received an invitation to the OPEC+ Monitoring Committee.

"We accepted it. This indicates the increased authority of Kazakhstan in the international oil and gas business," Bozumbayev added.
