Valmont Industries may introduce irrigation, water saving technologies in Uzbekistan

Uzbek Ambassador to The US, Javlon Vakhabov held negotiations with Joshua Dixon, vice president of Valmont Industries via a video conference, on January 22, 2019

Press service of Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the prospects for introduction of Valmont irrigation and water-saving technologies in Uzbekistan were discussed.

Following the conversation, an agreement was reached on the organization of Joshua Dixon’s special visit to Uzbekistan in February of this year.

A detailed presentation of their technologies will be carried out, Valmont sprinkling irrigation equipment will be presented, followed by installation in a test mode in one of the districts of the region as well as access to the Valley University electronic knowledge portal for Uzbek farmers which is a certified distance learning system in the field of agronomy, irrigation, water saving and water distribution systems.

Dixon visited Tashkent in November 2018 as part of the Valmont delegation and met with the officials of the ministries of water and agriculture of Uzbekistan, as well as a number of farmers interested in the technological solutions of this company.

Valmont Industries is the world leader in the field of engineering structures and irrigation systems, the world's largest developer and supplier of irrigation technology and sprinkler equipment with a market capitalization of more than $3 billion. Nowadays, about half of the irrigated land in the US (more than 10 million hectares) uses systems from Valmont.
