Production of Peugeot cars is set to begin by mid-February in Azerbaijan’s Neftchala Industrial Park, Emin Akhundov, AzerMash company founder, told Trend.
It is planned to manufacture Peugeot cars under the Khazar brand at the beginning stage.
"At the next stage, after about three months, the model range will be supplemented by two more models, namely Peugeot 206 and Peugeot 207. It is too early to talk about production volumes, as new models are being added."
"Initially, the cars will be supplied to the domestic market. As for exports, this issue is already being discussed and we have already reached a certain agreement. Information on this will be made public later," Akhundov said.
Production of cars is carried out by AzerMash in cooperation with Iran Khodro (IKCO).
