Russian Eurocement completes construction of new cement plant in Uzbekistan

Eurocement Group has confirmed the launch date of a new cement plant in the Tashkent region on the basis of Akhangarancement, Trend reports via UzNews which cited the press service of the Accounts Chamber.

Chamber press service states that during the meeting between Head of Eurocement Group JSC Mikhail Skorokhod and representatives of the Accounts Chamber confirmed the deadlines for completion of construction and installation work and the commissioning of facilities stepwise in 2020-2021.

The company stressed that Uzbekistan is one of the leaders in the implementation of energy efficient technologies and has the highest capacity utilization rate in CIS with a potential cement market capacity of 15-18 million tons by 2020-2022.

Uzbek President’s decree on the expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia emphasizes the planned to build a new technological line for the production of cement with a production capacity of 3 million tons per year and a project cost of $160 million on the basis of Akhangarancement.

International industrial holding company Eurocement Group is one of the five largest world cement companies that unites 19 cement plants in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan as well as plants for the production of concrete, concrete goods, and quarries for the extraction of non-metallic materials.

The production capacity of the holding's enterprises is more than 60 million tons of cement and more than 11 million cubic meters of concrete with reserves of non-metallic materials amount to over 5.5 billion tons.
