Flights from Iran’s Mashhad to Tajikistan’s Dushanbe will be resumed from February 14, said Abdolreza Mohammadi, Deputy Chairman of Iran-Tajikistan Joint Economic Commission, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

Iran’s Qeshm Air airline will make its first flight from Mashhad to Dushanbe on February 14.

Mohammadi added that it has been 4 years since Iran Aseman Airlines cancelled direct flights from Mashhad to Dushanbe. Tajik Air has also cancelled its flights to Iran a month ago.

“Therefore, we have not had any flights to Central Asia during this period. We have to fly there via Istanbul,” he said.

Mohammadi stated that Iran Aseman Airlines cancelled the flights due to a lack of profit. Meanwhile, due to corruption arising within Tajik Air, the President of Tajikistan had ordered for all flights of the company to be cancelled.
