Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry and the State Customs Committee have signed a memorandum on trade facilitation, Trend reports Jan. 29.

The document was signed by Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Chairman of the State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev at a conference dedicated to the implementation of the State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Azerbaijani Districts in 2014-2018.

The memorandum provides for holding joint measures to facilitate trade, as well as expanding cooperation in ensuring sustainable development and economic diversification, improving the state support for entrepreneurship, creating favorable environment for participants of foreign economic operations, optimizing import and export operations, as well as other issues.

On Jan. 29, Baku hosted a conference dedicated to the implementation of the State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Azerbaijani Districts in 2014-2018.

The event was attended by about 200 entrepreneurs and representatives of the public sector. As part of the conference, entrepreneurs were able to give questions to ministers and heads of various government agencies, submit complaints and suggestions.
