Exports of Iran's food, medicine & healthcare industries increased

In the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), exports of Iran's food, pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries amounted to 1.7 million tons in terms of weight, and $2.51 billion in terms of value, an official with Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Sadighi Niaraki said, Trend reports via SHATA.

Niaraki noted that compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the exports, both in terms of weight and value, increased by 6.2 and 4.62 percent, respectively.

"During the reported period, about 1.2 million tons of vegetable oil, 25 billion pieces/units of medicine and 504,000 tons of detergents were produced in the country," he added.

Main exported goods during the nine months were dairy products, ice cream, sweets and chocolate, saffron, tomatoes, fruit juice, feed for animals, birds and fish, toothpaste, tomato paste, licorice juice, wheat flour, potatoes, detergents, various medicinal preparations, according to Niaraki.
