Volume of cargo transshipment from Iran, Russia via Turkish ports revealed

In 2018, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran and Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 53.8 million tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

In 2018, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran through Turkish ports amounted to 7.6 million tons.

During this period, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying the Turkish flag amounted to 1.2 million tons, according to the ministry.

“In 2018, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying the Iranian flag amounted to 220,000 tons, while the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying flags of other countries totaled 6.2 million tons,” the ministry said.

In 2018, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 46.2 million tons.

During this period, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by vessels flying the Turkish flag amounted to 3.6 million tons, according to the ministry.

“In 2018, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by vessels flying the Russian flag amounted to 4.6 million tons, while the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying flags of other countries totaled 38 million tons,” the ministry said.

In 2018, the total volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 328.8 million tons.

During the reported period, the total volume of cargo transshipment by vessels flying the Turkish flag amounted to 35.5 million tons.

In 2018, the volume of cargo transshipment by vessels flying the flags of their own countries amounted to 13.4 million tons and by vessels flying the flags of other countries to 279.9 million tons.

In 2018, a total of 72,360 ships arrived at Turkish ports.

During the period, 38,219 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 34,141 vessels flying flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.
