Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development said that the completion of the infrastructure of the Tehran-Qom-Isfahan high-speed express train project which requires at least 3.5 years to be completed, is one of the government's priorities for developing the rail transport network of the country.

"This project has foreign financing. Due to some recessions, the project was stopped a while ago, but the problem has been resolved some three weeks ago," said Mohammad Eslami, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The key is to complete the infrastructure, build the electricity grid and provide special fleet to this particular route," he said.

“In the next year's budget, the credit for this project has been envisaged. Some 85 percent of the total credit of this project is to be provided by an investor, and only 15 percent of it, which is mainly related to the construction of the route, will be provided from the national budget,” said Eslami.

Tehran-Qom-Isfahan high-speed train project is one of the most important road projects in the Qom province, which transmits passengers from Qom to the central railway station of Tehran in 40 minutes.
