Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Ali Tahmasebi has indicated that the agricultural integration plan would save and reduce costs of irrigation in the country's agricultural sector.

"The government and the parliament have paid special attention towards new irrigation methods, so funds have been allocated for irrigation in order to integrate agricultural lands," he said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The integration has many advantages, so farmers are moving towards this path to witness the reduce of costs and more production," he said.

Referring to the recent droughts and water shortage, he said that "the tensions have affected Iran's water resources, therefore more attention must be paid to water consumption".

"The farmers can receive low-rate loans from the centers of agricultural ministry to implement the integration plan," said Tahmasebi.

"In the current situation, farmers should prevent garden plant diseases, they can purchase plants that are approved by the agriculture organization," he said.

Water shortage in southern parts of Iran has become a serious issue for the country in recent years, as Iran plans to transfer water from Caspian Sea to Semnan Province as a solution for its drought and water shortage.
