Iran is to import 10,000 livestock heads from Romania, Kyrgyzstan and Bulgaria next week via the Qatar Airway cargo plane.
"The Qatar Airways cargo plane will carry out livestock imports next week from Romania, Kyrgyzstan and Bulgaria. During these flights, 10,000 livestock heads will be imported," said the airport operations director at Payam International Airport, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
The livestock is destined for Payam Airport in Karaj at Alborz Province to fill the consumption gap that emerged as a result of price rise at the Iranian meat markets.
"In recent days no livestock have been imported through Payam Airport but its expected to proceed with the imports from next week," the official added.
Some of the importers that received official foreign exchange rate have used it to their advantage, and abused their privileges, by providing imported meat with high price at the market.
