Several livestock farms to be privatized in Turkmenistan

Four livestock farms being built in Ahal, Lebap and Mary provinces of Turkmenistan have been transferred to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country (UIET) as private properties, Trend reports with reference to the UIET.

The relevant decree was signed by the Turkmen president in order to create broad conditions for the development of entrepreneurship in the country, attract investments, improve an effective socially oriented market economy and further strengthen public-private partnership in all sectors of the economy.

In accordance with the document, it has been instructed to complete the construction and installation work of the four livestock farms in December 2020.

In addition, poultry farms of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, built in the Balkan and Mary provinces, are subject to privatization.

Turkmenistan is developing pasture livestock breeding. The total pasture area of Turkmenistan is approximately 38.1 million hectares. Earlier it was reported that the country’s poultry industry received a powerful impetus in its development.
