Number of enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan increases by 39%

The number of operating enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan amounted to 7,810 units as of February 1, 2019, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period last year, their number increased by 2202, or 39.3 percent.

Most of them belong to the Russian Federation, Turkey, China, Kazakhstan and Korea.

Moreover, 4,116 enterprises with foreign capital are joint ventures and 3,694 foreign ones.

The main part of operating enterprises with the participation of foreign capital belongs to the city of Tashkent - 4865 units (62.3 percent), Tashkent - 863 units (11.0 percent) and Samarkand region - 408 units (5.2 percent) regions.

The smallest part is recorded in Khorezm - 78 units (1 percent), Kashkadarya - 90 units (1.2 percent), Navoi - 120 units (1.5 percent) and Karakalpakstan - 124 units (1.6 percent) regions.

The main part of operating enterprises with the participation of foreign capital falls on industry and trade, the smallest share falls on health care and the provision of social services, as well as information and communication.

The amount of newly created of enterprises with foreign capital participation in the country were 281 units as of January 2019, which is 176 units more in comparison with the same period last year.

At the same time, 43 enterprises were registered with the participation of residents of the Russian Federation, Turkey - 41, China - 33, Kazakhstan - 37 and Korea - 24 enterprises

In case of considering newly created enterprises with the participation of foreign capital by types of economic activity, the main part is accounted for trade - 85 units, industry - 74 units, construction - 34 units, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 23 units and other activities - 65 units.
