The biopharmaceuticals currently produced in Iran are being exported to 17 countries, said Mostafa Ghanei, Chairman of the Biotechnology Development Council at Vice Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs of the Presidency of Iran, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

According to Ghanei, the gaps in the Iranian biopharmaceuticals production have been completely filled.

Noting how Iran used to import its biopharmaceuticals at one point, Ghanei said that no one would believe that Iran would become a manufacturer and exporter of biopharmaceuticals.

Ghanei said that, with the production of these drugs in Iran, it has been made possible to save about $1 billion from leaving the country per year.
