Governor of the Sistan and Balouchestan Province Ahmad Ali Mohebati has said the costs of maritime trade with Europe will reduce by 50 percent by Chabahar Port's connection to the International North-South Transport Corridor.

Referring to the trilateral treaty between Iran, India and Afghanistan at the International Conference on Development of Chabahar, he noted the connection will be a good opportunity for other regional countries, Trend reports citing ILNA.

“By implementing this agreement the economic obstacles in the region will be eliminated, while Central Asian countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) could share the profits,” he added.

He noted: "The connection of the Chabahar Port to the International North-South Transport Corridor will create possibility for trade with Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe and the route will reduce the time and cost of maritime trade with Europe."
