Guava harvest wraps up in Iran's Sistan & Baluchestan

In the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 3,600 tons of guava were harvested in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province and put for sale, an official with Sistan an Baluchestan Agricultural Jihad Organization Ardashir Shahraki said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Guava orchards in Sistan and Baluchestan cover an area of 600 hectares, Shahraki said. Only 450 hectares of the orchards were fertile, he added.

Shahraki noted that guava harvesting starts in mid-January and lasts for one month.

Thanks to suitable climate, along with guava, banana and papaya are also cultivated in the province.
