Iran's date exports soar

In the first 10 months of the current Iranian year, Iran's date exports increased by 53 percent in terms of value, Director General for Exports Coordination Office at Trade Promotion Organization Mahmoud Bazari said, Trend reports via SHATA.

He added that compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, exports increased by 27 percent in terms of weight.

During the 10 month period, 249,000 tons of dates have been exported for $258 million, Bazari said.

For comparison, in the same period of the previous Iranian year, date exports amounted to 196,000 tons in terms of weight and $186 million in terms of value, he added.

During the reported period, Iranian dates were mostly exported to India, Pakistan, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Turkey, he said.
