Currently a total of 185 out of 469 mines are active in Iran's West Azerbaijan province, which employ 5,172 people, vice-president of industrial and mineral affairs at West Azerbaijan Province's Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Parisa Abed Pour told Trend.
The mines work with capital of $6,796 and the exploration at these mines in West Azerbaijan costs $3,851.
The official further talked about the steps taken by the organization during current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).
She noted that the organization has purchased one drone camera for photography and for identifying the exploration prospects at the mines.
It has also reviewed the inactive mines in the province and has announced a public tender for work at mines in the province in four stages.
Other works include construction of roads that will create access to Ivughli, Siah Baz and Dol kundi mines in Khoy County, she concluded.
