Exports from Iran’s Zanjan Province up by $120M

Exports from Iran’s Zanjan Province increased by $120 million during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Hamed Ahmadi, Director General of Zanjan Customs Administration, told IRNA, Trend reports.

While provincial exports amounted to $293 million during the same period last year, this figure surpassed $413 million in 11 months, thus showing a 41-percent increase.

"173,000 tons of products were exported during the mentioned period. During the same period last year, however, product exports amounted to 144,000 tons," he said.

According to him, 10 products are mainly exported from the province, including lead, copper, zinc and aluminum.

Ahmadi went on to say that $250 million’ worth of products have been imported to the province in 11 months, while noting that, when compared to the figure of $303 million’ worth of goods imported in the same period last year, this shows an 11-percent decrease in the volume for the 11 months of the current Iranian year.

Ahmadi said that 311,000 tons of products have been imported in 11 months.

Ahmadi said products are imported to Zanjan Province from 42 countries, mainly consisting of zinc dust, industrial equipment and spare parts.

"Zanjan Province customs have earned 1.68 trillion rials ($40 million) in 11 months. Compared to the same period last year (1.7 trillion rials or app. $40.4 million), revenues dropped by 1.7 percent," he said.
