Uzbekistan will begin to export textiles through the British online platform Sewport, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

The Agency for Advertising and Marketing of Textile Products at the "Uztextileprom" Association and the British company Sewport signed a memorandum of mutually beneficial cooperation in order to expand exports to European and American markets.

As a result, Uzbekistan became the first manufacturing country in Central Asia to begin exporting textiles through the Sewport online platform.

The founder and director of the British company, Boris Hodakel, stressed that in order to work effectively on the platform, Uzbek manufacturers need to negotiate with interested brands exclusively in English.

The platform works with small and medium brands at the moment, mainly with the British and American markets. However, the company has a clear vision and strategy for increasing the users of the platform.

Sewport was established in 2015 with headquarters in London. It specializes in the online purchase and sale of textiles, clothing and footwear made from fur, as well as leather material.

In 2017, the company created an online platform that brings together more than 7,000 global brands and 1,000 manufacturers. About 20 textile manufacturing companies from different countries join the platform daily. Through this platform, companies from foreign countries advertise their products for free, exchange commercial offers and sign contracts with potential partners.

All services of the company are free for manufacturers, as companies-brands that buy textile products from manufacturers pay for services rendered.
