The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan for January-February 2019 amounted to 606.4 million manats at actual prices, which is 3.6 percent more than the same period last year, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee.
Production in the field of animal husbandry increased by 2.5 percent (585 million manats) during the mentioned period, and by 43.7 percent (21.4 million manats) in the field of horticulture.
During the reporting period, 80,500 tons of meat, 304,900 tons of milk, 283 million eggs and 27,300 tons of vegetables were produced in the country. Compared with the same figures in 2018, meat production increased by 3 percent, milk by 1.7 percent, eggs by 0.4 percent, and vegetables by 1.7 times.
Cultivation is carried out on the fields, in orchards and vineyards, along with preparatory activities being carried out on the planting of summer crops.
