Export is the main solution for Iran in the current situation to increase employment and production, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani said.
"Iran is surrounded by 15 neighbor countries. Their overall imports this year was $1,300 billion, while Iran's share in this figure stood at $25 billion, or 2 percent of regional imports, which is a very little figure. Russia can be an important destination for Iran's exports, but the volume of exports to this country in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018) was only $300 million," he said, Trend reports citing ILNA.
The export volume should increase according to needs of neighbor countries, as it would affect the employment and production, said the minister.
"Providing micro production would defiantly resolve the basic problems, including unemployment, inflation and heavy costs," he added.
Referring to production in industry, mine and agriculture sectors he said that major problems in the country will be resolved if the country invests in these sectors. He pointed out that currently, the value of mineral products is $20 billion per month.
"Carpet export is another domestic industry like mining sector that can solve the current problems. Iran has exported $1.3 billion worth petrochemical and chemical products to Iraq. We have special plan for the mines in next Iranian year (starts March 21, 2019)," the minister concluded.
