Iran will provide Kazakhstan with land in the ports of Bandar Abbas and Amirabad for the construction of logistics centers, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Logistics centers will promote the export of Kazakh goods through Iran to the markets of the Gulf countries.

During the meeting of the delegations of the two countries headed by the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi and his Iranian counterpart Seyyed Abbas Araghchi the sides reiterated interest in holding the next 16th meeting of the Kazakh-Iranian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.

The parties also discussed cooperation in the Caspian region, stressing the need to implement the provisions of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea and implement the agreements reached at the Aktau summit in 2018.

The diplomats also stressed the importance of enhancing the use of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway route with a further exit to the Persian Gulf.

The international railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran road was opened in December 2014 with the participation of the heads of state of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

Iran imports grain, oil products and metals from Kazakhstan. Iran is a partner in joint oil and gas projects including construction of a pipeline connecting Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran (Persian Gulf) which will give Kazakhstan access to the Asian markets.

Kazakhstan has special interests in Iranian investments in mechanical engineering, infrastructure, transport and telecommunications.
