Kazakhstan increases oil production to 23M tons in 1Q2019

Industrial output in January-March 2019 in Kazakhstan increased by 3.2 percent compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports with reference to the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

In the reporting period, production in mining and quarrying increased by 4.8 percent, in manufacturing - by 1.6 percent, in electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning decreased by 1 percent.

In water supply, sewerage system and waste collection, the indicator increased by 14.9 percent.

In January-March of this year, the production of crude oil, natural gas and metal ores increased.

Moreover, the production of food, beverages, oil refining, chemical products, rubber and plastic products and mechanical engineering increased as well.

Production of tobacco and ferrous metallurgy decreased.

In particular, the volume of oil production, including gas condensate, in January-March 2019 amounted to 23 million tons (increased by 2.7 percent compared to January-March 2018), copper ores - 27.3 million tons (+17, 3 percent).

Gasoline production amounted to 0.9 million tons (+11.2 percent), gas oil - 1.1 million tons (+4.7 percent).

The production of flat-rolled products reached 0.4 million tons (-48 percent), refined copper — 0.1 million tons (+ 10.1 percent), Portland cement — 1.5 million tons (+4.4 percent), electricity - 28,1 billion kWh (-4.5 percent) and flour - 1 million tons (-1.9 percent).

The increase in industrial production was observed in 13 regions of the country.
