Finnish company to establish new production in Uzbek region

The Finnish company Kaukointernational Oy Ltd plans to implement a project to modernize the waste management system in Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

Uzbek National Project Management Agency (NPMA) negotiated with Finnish Kaukointernational Ltd on the issue during the meeting with Finnish delegation.

"It is planned that 30 percent of the project cost will be provided by the Finnish government in the form of grant funds. In May of this year the project is expected to be approved during political consultations, and the preparation of project documentation will be completed in June," NPMA noted.

This project will allow developing a regional waste management plan, sorting and producing fuel from waste, piloting garbage collection at a specific enterprise or group of enterprises.

As part of this initiative, practical training of personnel at all levels related to new facilities, including work training, as well as training in financial planning and management will be provided.

In addition, a number of promising proposals for cooperation were voiced at the meeting.

Mikko Lavanti, Vice-President for Central-Eastern Europe and Central Asia of Nokia Siemens Network, proposed cooperation in the field of telecommunications, IT-security, smart cities and the digital economy.

Moreover, it was also proposed to establish cooperation between Business Finland and the business incubator in the city of Jizzakh, including the conclusion of a memorandum.
