A 30,000-megawatt solar panel power plant will be built in the Saveh county of Iran’s Markazi province, said Mohammadreza Mansouri, member of the Iranian Parliament’s Industry and Mines Commission, Trend reports via the Iranian parliament’s website.
He said that investments worth $5.6 billion are envisaged for this project.
He added that a foreign company will invest in this project.
“Iran’s Industry, Mine and Trade Ministry has instructed the project to be implemented, but the corresponding contract should be signed,” he said.
He added that the government should receive electricity after the production starts as part of the contract.
He called this power plant as the biggest one in Iran, noting that so far there has been no solar panel power plant in Iran with capacity of over 100 megawatts.
