It is estimated that Iran’s IranKhodro and Saipa carmaking companies will increase their production to 6,000 cars daily, Vali Maleki, spokesperson of the Industries and Mnes Commission of the Iranian Parliament, told ISNA, Trend reports.
According to Maleki, a loan worth 40 trillion rials (approx. $952 million) was given to manufacturers of spare parts during the last months of the previous year (started March 21, 2018). This, Maleki added, formed a great incentive for spare parts manufacturers to increase their production.
Considering the increased production of multifunctional cars by IranKhodro and Saipa carmakers to be an effective step in reducing prices, the two carmaking companies managed to increase their daily production to 4,100 cars by the end of last year, he said.
He continued by saying, "Of course, providing clearance for 16,000 containers of car parts from the customs, adding them to the production, and providing clearance for more than 13,000 cars of foreign production from the customs may stand in the way of those trying to take advantage of the destabilized situation in the automobile market."
