Iran discloses value of goods exported through Khuzestan province

The value of non-oil goods exported through the customs of Iran’s southern Khuzestan province increased by about 12 percent, Gulamreza Baluti Mirza, customs officer in Khuzestan province, told reporters.

Some 16.7 million tons of non-oil products worth $8.1 billion have been exported through the customs of Khuzestan province last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), Baluti Mirza added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Baluti Mirza added that polyethylene, propane gas, butane, methanol, petrochemical and chemical products, fruits and vegetables are mainly exported to China, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Oman, Kuwait and Egypt.

The revenues of the Khuzestan customs office reached 29.4 trillion rials (about $701 million) last Iranian year, Baluti Mirza added.

The value of the petrochemical products exported through the customs of Khuzestan province reached 63 percent, metals – 20 percent, agriculture – 11 percent, mining materials – 3 percent, industrial goods – 2 percent, handicraft and carpets – 1 percent, he said.

Fruits and vegetables, clinker, rubber goods, construction materials, dairy products and fish are among the main products exported to Iraq through the customs of Khuzestan province, Baluti Mirza said.

He added that 15.2 million tons of products worth $6.84 billion were imported through the customs of Khuzestan province last Iranian year.

Animal feed, soybeans, petrochemical equipment, sunflower oil, gasoline, palm oil, Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) and mechanical equipment are mainly imported from Brazil, China, Ukraine, US, Argentina, India, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Thailand, Baluti Mirza said.
