Export of goods up in Iran's Bileh Savar County

Export of goods from the customs of the Bileh Savar County of Iran’s Ardabil Province has increased by 5 percent during the 1st month of the Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), compared to the same period last year, Ali Rahmati, Director General of Ardabil Road Maintenance and Transportation Department, told journalists, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Overall, 25,200 tons of products were exported from Bileh Savar customs during the aforementioned period, according to Rahmati.

Noting that the exported products mostly consisted of tiles, glass and potatoes, Rahmati added that these products were mainly exported to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia.

He also said that last month the product transit through Ardabil Province increased by 7 percent to 33,500 tons, compared to the same period last year.

"The products which were transited the most were transited from Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and vice versa, as well as from Azerbaijan to Afghanistan and vice versa. At the same time, product transit also took place in the directions of Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, Georgia and Russia," he said.

Rahmati added that the transit products mainly consisted of fuel, wheat, wood, mineral water and food products.

According to him, 1,720 tons of products were imported to Iran via Bileh Savar customs last month, which is a 169-percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Rahmati also said that the imported products mainly consisted of oilcake, yarn and carton waste.

The only international customs point of Iran’s Ardabil Province is located in the Bileh Savar County, on the border with Azerbaijan.
