Export of goods from Iran's Kermanshah Province up by 18%

Exports of Iran’s western Kermanshah Province have increased by 18 percent in terms of value and 1 percent in terms of weight during the 1st month of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), when compared to the same period last year, Khalil Heydari, Director of Kermanshah Customs Administration, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Heydari, 375,000 tons of products worth $163.8 million were exported through Kermanshah customs and border markets during the aforementioned period.

He added that 236,000 tons of goods worth $99.3 million were exported through Kermanshah, Parvizkhan, Khosravi and Paveh customs. Export of goods from these customs duties increased by 29 percent in terms of value and decreased by 12 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year.

"Other Iranian customs also exported 138,000 tons of products worth $64.4 million through Kermanshah Province. This figure increased by 5 percent in terms of value and 33 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year," he said.

Heydari went on to say that the main products exported through the customs of Kermanshah Province included tomatoes, air conditioners, ice cream, cucumbers, yoghurt, eggplants, watermelons, household items, etc.

He added that the products were mainly exported to Iraq.

Iran's Kermanshah Province has a 371-kilometer border with Iraq. There are 6 customs and border markets in the province. Almost half of Iran's annual non-oil exports to Iraq pass through this province.
