Georgia's import of electricity increases

In January-April 2019 electricity import to Georgia amounted to 612 million kWh, Trend reports via apsny.ge.

“In the course of first four months of 2018 electricity import to Georgia totaled 504 million kWh. Thus, an annual increase of import stands at 21 percent,” reads the message.

“In April 2019 electricity import to Georgia amounted 80 million kWh, whereas in 2018 the electricity import totaled 11 million kWh,” the report said.

Since 2017, Azerbaijan has been the main electricity exporter to Georgia. Electricity is also being imported from Russia, Armenia and Turkey.
